Tony and Nate put on a show for the fans. It’s clear that both men aren’t where they were three to five years ago but the finish from Nate was good and there were comical moments in the fights. I hope Tony retires. It’s hard to watch him go out like this but five losses in a row is a good omen to call it quits.
If it’s the last time we see Nate, thanks for your service to the sport, A huge legend that will never be forgotten.
Khamzat is a monster. That’s all that has to be said.
Li Jingliang was defeated by Daniel Rodriguez by a split decision. A real technical fight between both men were met by a chorus of boos by an ungrateful Vegas crowd, who were awful all night. In my eyes, and the eyes of the MMA community the Leech was robbed. I thought he won round one and two at least. Absolute joke.
Upkick to the body??? The craziest finish in a war between Irene Aldana and Macy Chiasson. After Irene nearly broke Macy’s arm in round one, Macy dominated Irene on the ground in round two it was all for grabs in the third and final round. With Macy looking good for the win, an upkick to the liver shut her down. One of the most bizarre finishes I’ve ever seen.
Johnny Walker is back in the win column! After early wrestling dominance from Cutelaba, Walker was able to get off his back and put Ion in the same position and after multiple attempts to lock in the rear naked choke, Walker was able to lock it in to get the finish in round one. I’d like to see him face someone like Paul Craig next. I feel like that could be a fun fight.
In the prelims, the heavyweight boys, Chris Barnett and Jake Collier put on the craziest heavyweight fight I’ve seen in a long time. The two men were swangin and bangin and after getting knocked down, Barnett was able to rally in round two to get a ground and pound finish. Honestly, very happy for the guy. He’s a little or big depending on how you look at it draw and is a great character to have in the UFC.
Denis Tiulilin put away Jamie Pickett at the end of round two with a flurry of elbows that eventually dropped the American who couldn’t withstand eight more seconds of punishment. There was controversy with a point deduction for the Russian after two unfortunate low blows, however, this motivated Tiululin to push for the finish more.
Jailton Almeida is a problem for the heavyweight division. That grappling will be an issue for all fighters. He easily made Anton Turkalj tap with seamless transitions. I’d love to see him face a top 15 fighter next.
Julian Erosa, put on a clinic against Hakeem Dawodu dominating the fight from minute one to fifteen. He always seems to rise to the occasion and he’s done it again against his most dangerous opposition yet.
Overall the card was fun. I’d rate it 8/10. Had fun fights from start to finish. The Vegas crowd was incredibly annoying but what do you expect at this point.
