Night one of Fyter Fest was a good show, I think it let down by Cody vs Jake Hager. I’m still not fully sold on the TNT belt. Cody’s done a good job with it so far but I just see the belt as a filler belt due to an overfilled roster.
Anyways onto the second night was, unfortunately, due to WWE’s carelessness Jon Moxley’s partner Renee Young caught coronavirus and now Moxley vs Brian Cage has been rescheduled to Fight for the Fallen later on this month. Anyways enough complaining let’s get into the predictions
The Dark Order vs SCU
I’m enjoying Colt Cabana Dark Order storyline. Colt hasn’t decided if he wants to join the cult yet (that was a good one, don’t lie) and it will be interesting to see if Colt takes up on Brodie Lee’s opportunity. SCU is definitely taking the loss in this match as this story continues to grow. Not much more needs to be said, my money’s on Dark Order.
FTR and The Young Bucks vs Lucha Bros and The Blade and The Butcher
I expected FTR and The Bucks to feud each other upon FTR’s arrival in AEW after their release from WWE but instead, we’ve got them teaming up. I think FTR may turn on The Bucks post-match to start the long-awaited feud between those two teams. but I’ve still got them taking the win.
Hangman Page and Kenny Omega (c) vs Private Party – AEW Tag Team Championships
Private Party is coming off their night one win against Santana and Ortiz going into this one and if the Page and Omega split didn’t occur last week it definitely won’t occur next week. I think if it does happen, it’ll be against FTR or the Young Bucks or maybe both in a triple threat tag-team match. The thought of that match is salivating. Nevertheless, I’ve got the champions retaining their titles.
Lance Archer vs Joey Janela
Archer has been on a demolition path and I don’t see him stopping that here. This could easily be a squash as I hope they’re building Archer to face Cody again after his loss at Double or Nothing to the TNT champion. Joey has no chance in this bout. Archer will win convincingly and hopefully will move onto bigger and better things.
Chris Jericho vs Orange Cassidy
Apart from Moxley vs Cage, this was the only original night two match I was really looking forward to and if I’m being honest I don’t know who’ll pick up the win here. I think Cassidy is firmly planted in the head of Le Champion and could get a clean victory over him. Yet, I think the most likely outcome is Mike Tyson coming out to distract Jericho and take out Inner Circle. Then again if they delay that feud Jericho could easily go over. I’m going with Cassidy. I think there are more scenarios in which he can get the win.
I hope this show is as good as last weeks show. I think Cage vs Moxley would’ve topped the show as it was built brilliantly but we’ll deal with what we have.
