AEW Fyter Fest was supposed to take place in London this year but due to the coronavirus ruining everything, it’ll take place in Jacksonville in America across the next two Wednesdays. During this quarantine, I’ve really enjoyed AEW and have found myself just watching NXT and AEW Dynamite instead of NXT, AEW, Raw and Smackdown. I’ve also found the war between NXT and AEW has been really interesting with both companies competing for ratings in that Wednesday slot. Anyway. without further ado, let’s get into the predictions.
Private Party vs Santana & Ortiz
I think this is pretty obvious, Kassidy and Quen of Private Party seem to be working with Matt Hardy, but I can’t lie I’m a bit confused by the storyline because Matt Hardy is linked with Sammy Guevara who is obviously friends with Santana and Ortiz of Inner Circle. Nevertheless, I think Private Party will win this one, to keep their run going.
Prediction: Private Party
Jurassic Express vs MJF and Wardlow
I think this one is another easy one to predict. MJF is currently undefeated and I don’t think AEW would want him to lose all the momentum in a tag match. I do really like the athletic big men in this man, especially Wardlow. So I hope he gets a good showing in this match with his team picking up the win. Wardlow and Luchasauraus faced off this Wednesday on Dynamite with Wardlow picking up the win and I think they’ll carry that momentum into next week.
Prediction: MJF and Wardlow
Hikaru Shida (c) vs Penelope Ford – AEW Women’s Championship
Penelope Ford is good and I’m sure will be a future AEW women’s champion, but I don’t think her time is now. I think this is a match where we will see a bunch of Kip Sabian distractions to create false finishes but Shida will overcome all of those to retain. I hope this match goes a decent amount of time and Ford is squashed because she is destined for big things in the near future.
Prediction: Hikaru Shida
Kenny Omega and Hangman Page (c) vs Best Friends – AEW Tag Team Championships
When will the turn happen? That’s the question on this one. We know it’s going to happen one day, but is that day Wednesday? Or could Wednesday be the start of the implosion between Omega and Page? I’m really torn on this one but I’m going to pick Best Friends for this one. I think that will start the descend of The Elite and the Hangman Page snap that we’ve all been anticipating.
Prediction: Best Friends
Cody (c) vs Jake Hager – AEW TNT Championship
So we’ve had the TNT title for around a month now and Cody has been a fighting champion. Obviously, this has been done to give the belt a bit of prestigious value. I’ve got Cody retaining. Hager hasn’t really done much since coming to AEW, even though he did fight Moxley for the AEW championship, and it makes no sense putting the belt on him in my opinion. So I’ve got Cody retaining here.
It looks like a solid card for Night One with three championship matches happening. Let’s hope Fyter Fest lives up to the hype this year like it did last year. Hope you enjoyed and have a good day!
