UFC 243 will take place in Melbourne at the Marvel Stadium, hosting 60,000 bloodthirsty fight fans ready to see a classic UFC event. The event will take place on October 6th.
The main event of that show will be a spectacle to watch as Robert Whittaker will face off with Adesanya to unify the Interim Middleweight Championship held by Adesanya and Middleweight Championship held by Whittaker.
Whittaker has just come back from surgery from a collapsed bowel. He had to pull out of a fight with Kelvin Gastellum at UFC 234 due to this injury. At the press conference, Whittaker proclaimed he feels “physically good” however could a couple of body shots from the Last Stylebender do more damage.
Adesanya was asked about if he would exploit this formerly injured area in the fight and he simply said, “My hands have no discrimination,” meaning he’ll target all areas in the fight.
Adesanya also mentioned how when he was younger he got in a fight with multiple men leaving his jaw cracked really hammering home the point that he won’t target weak spots on Whittaker.
As both men come from Down Under, Adesanya from New Zealand and Whittaker from Australia, this will be a spectacle for fight fans in Oceania. I expect tickets to sell out rapidly when they are released on Friday the 16th of August.
