Ever since Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke stepped foot into the WWE, there has always been this idea of a dream match between these Four Horsewomen of MMA vs and Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley, the Four Horsewomen of WWE. This had seemed to be the plan especially with NXT pushing Baszler to make her appear to the main roster a star.
However, Shafir and Duke have been made to seem like lackeys compared to Baszler rather than dangerous allies. I’d compare them to The Club before they turned into the OC this year. They should seem tough but they continuously lose on a constant basis yet their leader keeps winning. Unless they make Duke and Shafir appear stronger, I cannot see this match taking place anytime soon as they are basically nobodies compared to Rousey and Baszler.
Secondly and the more obvious reason, Sasha Banks. Sasha Banks hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since April due to her being upset of the way Bayley and herself lost the Women’s Tag Titles. To be fair to her, those titles have been absolutely useless until this past Smackdown where we crowned new champs. Now, Becky Lynch has buried Sasha Banks and to be honest I don’t see them competing together ever again.
Becky Lynch said “Oh yeah, if Sasha Banks could hack it and didn’t just get her jacket and shoes off, crying like Ronda Rousey then I would love to face her. But unfortunately, she couldn’t take losing. She lost the tag team championship and she was gone. Some people can’t hack losing. They can’t step up and realize when you lose, it’s just a chance to get better and learn and a chance to grow. Instead, she wants to talk about ‘oh the freaking wind and the butterflies and the freaking cocoons. And I’m a rabbit that’s coming from the Earth and the soil.’ And whatever else she wants to put on her freaking social media crap. Come fight me, Sasha, if you want it.”
Now if this is a work, then they’ve completely got me because Becky just verbally destroyed Sasha. I’d hope to see Sasha wrestle soon, and if this is a work wrestle Becky because that is a feud that I’d 100% be invested in.
If there is a match that could really solidify the WWE Women’s division as being evolved this match could really do it.
