After destroying Junior Dos Santos in 70 seconds at UFC on ESPN 3, Francis Ngannou said to the press that he had spoken to Dana White on about him being in contention for a championship fight.
White didn’t completely turn out his request he simply said “This fight has to play out first, Stipe and Cormier has to play out. … Who wins, how they come out of that fight, what does Cormier want to do next if he wins.”
I’m hoping Cormier wins because I’d love to see Cormier vs Ngannou. Yet, Ngannou would prefer to fight Miocic as he said, “Stipe is my rematch that I want to do, and ‘DC’ is a double champ and is about to retire. “Either fight would be good for me.”
Ngannou looks motivated to have a championship fight soon, It’s just a matter of time until UFC 241 where we’ll find out what’s in store for the heavyweight division.
