NXT Takeover Brooklyn IV Reactions to Predictions

Another excellent NXT show. It wasn’t in my top five though. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it. All matches were good and above, however, there were no Meltzer star rating shattering performances. So let’s go through the event and rate each match!

Undisputed Era (c) bt Moustache Mountain – NXT Tag Team Championship 

The night started off with a bang with this match. In my opinion, it wasn’t as good as there previous encounter. However, it was still a really solid match. Undisputed Era retained as I thought, but there were moments where I thought Bate and Seven had the titles back.

Velveteen Dream bt EC3 

A good match but I wasn’t fully invested. Maybe I was tired, and it may just be me but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. However, the climax and the finish were excellent. The Dream Valley Driver on the apron was awesome. I was wrong with my prediction but I’m happy I was wrong as Dream needed the win. Also, shout to Dream’s tights. Vince, call him up! After you retire because he’ll be a BTEC Tyler Breeze.

Ricochet bt Adam Cole (c) – North American Championship

What a great match! Adam Cole is a superstar. Ricochet is a legend. When you put them together it creates heaven. Ricochet never fails to amaze me. There was a lot of crazy spots. The most memorable one was the hurricanrana from the top rope to the floor. I hope Cole dropping the belt pushes him on to the main event scene of NXT.

Kairi Sane bt Shayna Baszler (c) – NXT Women’s Championship

This was definitely the shock of the night. I was not expecting Baszler to lose. Contrarywise, I don’t mind this. Maybe, she’ll get called up after Summerslam so they can start building up to the four horsewomen of UFC vs the four horsewomen of WWE at Evolution. The finish was great, I genuinely thought Baszler had the match won when Baszler reversed the Insane elbow.

Tommaso Ciampa (c) bt Johnny Gargano – NXT Championship

Another brutal encounter between these two. Hopefully, this is the final straw in NXT between these two. They’ve had the war and Ciampa won. There were brutal spots and great story-telling. This was good but it was the worst out of their three encounters. I can’t wait for Ciampa to come out on Wednesday to a reception of boos from the fans. Will Gargano get called up with winning the NXT championship? There are many questions to be asked!

As said before another great NXT PPV and there is no way that Summerslam will come close. I can’t wait for NXT on Wednesday and to see if the likes of Shayna Baszler and Johnny Gargano get called up to the main roster.
