My Mum knows little to nothing about wrestling. So I decided to make her do predictions for the Royal Rumble. She wasn’t allowed to do any research on any of the wrestlers’ momentum going into the PPV, but she was allowed to listen to their entrance music and images of all the WWE superstars.
Men’s Royal Rumble Match
My Mum picked The Miz. I think I know the reason why. My Mum likes to read my blogs and I believe she read my favourite wrestler of 2017 blog and picked The Miz on account of that. If The Miz does win I’ll be shocked as much as he deserves it he has the Intercontinental Championship so he definitely won’t be winning it this year. Sorry, Mum.
Women’s Royal Rumble Match
I gave my Mum a list of confirmed contestants for the Rumble and some rumoured arrivals. So for this match, she picked from the rumoured arrivals which consisted of, Trish Stratus, Lita, Stephanie Mcmahon, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey. She picked Rousey. I think She knows who Ronda is so that’s why she picked her. She could be right Ronda could make her debut tonight at the Rumble, and to be honest if she’s in the rumble, you have to believe she’s gonna win it.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs Kane vs Braun Strowman – Universal Championship
I thought she would’ve gone with Kane just because I’m pretty sure she would’ve heard of him before. However, she went with Lesnar. I agree with her not much more to say about this match, to be honest.
Aj Styles (c) vs Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens – WWE World Heavyweight Championship
It was hard to explain this match however I think I got there in the end. Mum said she had heard of Aj yet, she picked Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Why? I haven’t got a clue. I think she saw it was 2 on 1 so she went with the 2 as they had the numbers advantage.
The Usos (c) vs American Beta – Smackdown Tag Team Championships
My Mum went with American Beta. The reason was that marketing, she thought that American Beta would appeal more to the crowd. I agree with the team she picked for the win but the reasoning I don’t agree with.
Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan (c) vs The Bar – Raw Team Championships
Mum went with Rollins and Jordan I don’t believe there was a reason. I think she went 50-50 with this one and picked the champs to retain. I disagree, though I could be wrong as there are many directions WWE could go with this one. For example, They could do the Jordan heel turn tonight or wait until Raw on Monday. Or they can turn Rollins heel. But this is unlikely to work as Jordan would get booed constantly by the WWE fans if he treated as a face for the foreseeable future.
